Milwaukee, Wisconsin – December 2, 2012 – The Lake Central Centralettes kicked off their first two regional contests of the 2012-2013 season in Illinois and Wisconsin at the UDA (Universal Dance Association) competitions.
The Centralettes set the stage and standards early with 1st place wins at both events in Junior Varsity and Varsity Jazz and Hip Hop categories. The Junior Varsity Hip Hop team also took home the award for “Best Crowd Appeal” in Milwaukee. The competitive high school dancers will continue their competitive season on December 8 at Varsity’s Groove Experience Event at the Indianapolis convention center.
The high school dancers compete in upwards of ten core competitions throughout their season as well as exhibition performances at the Lake Central Varsity Boys Basketball home games on Friday nights. The Lake Central Varsity Centralettes are Megan Barenie, Jenna Blessing, Julia Demma, Kristina Dombovic, Daniella Dombovic, Abigail Emmett, Michelle Gentz, Millie Hiestand, Emma Hupp, Tari Markowski, Brianna Martin, Lindsay McClain, Shannon Putnam, Ashley Roberts, Amanda Roberts, Lauren Skertich, Daniella Soucie, Katie Speckman, Meghan Tar, Allyson Vanek, Katie Vega and Jillian Wilschke.
The Junior Varsity Centralettes include Gabrielle Aloia, Courtney Carlson, Reyna Crothers, Breanna Dobos, Talia Harman, Chrissy Foreman, Stephanie Foster, Megan Helfers, Gina Irwin, Sara Lisac, Marisa Mendoza, Cassandra Morris, Emma Nelson, Adare Pitchford, Kristina Plaskett, Tiffany Polyak, Jill Poplon, Emma Strohacker, Celine Tucker, Nicole Vanek, Kelsie Verhoeve and Michaela Vuckovic.
The Lake Central Centralettes are trained under the direction of Kevin Mathis and his staff of Bri Clark, Toya Ambrose, Katie Johnson and Leah Shaffer. Kevin Mathis is also head coach for Purdue University’s Dance Team in West Lafayette, Indiana.
